| Ballymagroarty Heritage Centre |
The centre celebrates the Ballymagroarty Monastery, founded by St. Patrick c. 440 A.D. He built he church at Campo Sereth "Racoo", from its foundations. St. Assicus, 1st Bishop of Elphin, artificer to St. Patrick, was buried at Ballymagroarty (c. 490 A.D). St. Patricks Bell and the Cross of Cong are attributed from hs artistry.
St. Columba - Colum Cille, - reconsecrated the Ballymagroarty Monastery in 540 A.D. Domnall Mac Hugh, High King of Ireland, 639 A.D, lived at his royal palace next to the Ballymagroarty Monastery. The foundation and ramps are still visible. An original, John O' Donnavan's translated publication of the Four Masters, circa 1856, is on display at the Centre.
"The Cathach" and its Book Shrine ( circa 1090 ), made by order of Cathbar O'Donnell and Domnall Magroarty, 41st. Abbot of Kells, was preserved at the Monastery.

Donegal County Museum is based in a fine old Stone building, which was once part of the Letterkenny workhouse, built in 184. The museum houses a fascinating range of artefacts covering all aspects of life in Donegal. The first floor exhibition charts the history of Donegal from the Stone Age to the twentieth century. A series of Temporary exhibitions are also held in the Museum throughout the year. These exhibitions cover a wide variety of topics to suit all ages and interests.

Built by the O Donell chieftains in the 15th century on the river Eske at the centre of Donegal Town. Rebuilt in Jacobean style in 16th century by Sir Basil Brooke after Hugh O Donell burnt it to the ground rather than let the castle fall to enemy hands. Information panels chronicle the history of the castle and guided tours are available. The castle opens each season from mid March to the end of October.

Compliance with the standards and requirement for sewage treatment and effluent quality such as are contained in the EU Urban Waste Water Directive. Bathing Water quality and Blue Flag information posted at the beach. Sufficient litter bins on the beach keep it clean.
Beach cleaned on a regular basis; daily in teh peak season. Sufficient lifeguards or lifesaving equipment to ensure response to an emergency anywhere on the Blue Flag beach
